At Barfield Academy we provide a secure, nurturing, and educational environment for children; a place for children to bloom into responsible, considerate and contributing members of society.
Barfield Academy wants all children to have the opportunity to grow physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually by playing, exploring, and learning with others in a fun, safe and healthy environment.
As a family owned and operated organization, Barfield Academy welcomes positive family involvement. We encourage a parent-teacher approach where the needs of every child comes first in order to experience the benefits of excellent early childhood education and kindergarten readiness programs.

ABC & 123, Back to School and All about Me!
Welcome to the new school year 2010-2011! This month we will be learning our ABC, 123, back to school and all about ME! During Septembers curriculum we will be focused on back to school beginning basics. We will start with letters ABC, numbers 1, 2, 3 and a focus on All About Me! This is a great way to allow our students to express themselves and their world around them to other friends and teachers. For this month we will ask you to decorate a half sheet of poster with your childs name on it along with pictures of friends, family and pets. Each student will have the opportunity to talk about their poster! Once we have discussed All About Me posters, we will then display them around the room, so your child may refer to it throughout the day. This is a great activity that you and your child can do together!
Get Involved!
All Staff members at Barfield Academy are specially selected for their warmth and patience with children. They all go through a screening process and are investigated for the children's protection. Staff backgrounds are checked with the County Records Department, DCF Child Abuse Registry and FDLE. Apart from a clean record, employees are required to take training courses to help them understand your childs needs. Excellent health, appropriate physical appearance and grooming are mandatory requirements for all staff members here at the Academy. Stop on by and meet us!
A Creative Curriculum approach is used here at Barfield Academy, with the rooms divided into areas and centers. You can find housekeeping, blocks, table toys, a cozy center, artist area, sensory box, etc. all stationed around the room for the children to access easily. At Barfield Academy we have found this approach works well for a mixed age group with varying developmental levels. The teacher must prepare activities for each area every day, to present learning challenges. The exploratory play is new and exciting for the children each day.

Big Dippers, Comets, and Shooting Stars are eligible to enroll in our
Academy Program. This program is for families needing care from
